an official visit to the United Arab Emirates


The President of the Republic Mr Nicos Anastasiades, accompanied by his spouse Mrs Andri Anastasiades, and a high level delegation, will pay a four-day official visit to Abu Dhabi and Dubai from 14 to 17 April.

The Cypriot delegation will include the Minister of Finance, Mr Harris Georgiades, the Minister of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism, Mr Yiorgos Lakkotrypis, the Deputy Minister to the President, Mr Constantinos Petrides, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr Alexandros Zenon and the Director of the Diplomatic Office of the President, Mr Nicos Christodoulides.

In the evening of 14 April, the President and his delegation will attend a dinner with local businessmen in Abu Dhabi.

In the morning of 15 April, the President will meet with the Director General of the Arab Monetary Fund, Dr Abdulrahman Al Hamidy, and afterwards he will meet with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Mubadala Development Company, Mr Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak.

Later on, the President of the Republic will visit the Mushrif Palace where he will be officially received by the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The official ceremony will be followed by expanded talks between the two delegations, which will be followed by the signing of bilateral agreements.

On the same day, the President will have a meeting with the Managing Director of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (AIDA), Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, which will be followed by his meeting with the Director General of the renewable sources company IRENA, Mr Adnan Amin.

On 16 April, the President with his delegation will visit Dubai, where he will pay a tribute to the Tomb of the Founder of the Nation Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, at the Grand Mosque.

Later on, the President of the Republic will address a Business Forum organized by the Chambers of Commerce of Dubai and Cyprus. A large number of Cypriot businessmen will participate in the Forum.

Later in the day, the President will meet with the Chairman of the Dubai Airports and Chairman and CEO of the Emirates Airlines, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum.
In the afternoon, the President will meet with the CEO of the property development company Emaar, Mr Abdullah Lahaj, and with the Managing Director of the company Mr Ahmad Al Matrooshi.

The President of the Republic and the Cypriot delegation will depart from Dubai for Cyprus in the morning of 17 April.
