The President of the Republic, Mr Nicos Anastasiades,
departs tomorrow, 14 February, for the Vatican, where he will pay an
official visit to the Holy See.
The President will be accompanied by the Minister of
Foreign Affairs, Mr Ioannis Kasoulides, the Minister of Energy, Commerce,
Industry and Tourism, Mr Yiorgos Lakkotrypis, the Government Spokesman, Mr
Christos Stylianides, the Permanent Secretary of the Minister of Finance, Mr
Christos Patsalides, and the Director of the Diplomatic Office of the President,
Mr Nicos Christodoulides.
In the morning of 15 February, the President will have a
private audience with Pope Francis at the Offices of the Pontiff (Holy Father).
There will subsequently be a meeting with the members of the Cyprus delegation
as well.
The President of the Republic will then meet with the
Secretary of State of the Vatican (Prime Minister of the Holy See), Cardinal
Pietro Parolin and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Archbishop Dominique
Mamberti.
Afterward, the President and his entourage will attend
an official lunch with the Prime Minister of the Holy See.
In the afternoon of 15 February, the President of the
Republic will meet with the Founder of the Community of Sant’ Egidio, Prof.
Andrea Riccardi, and the President of the Community, Prof. Marco Impagliazzo, at
the Headquarters of the Community.
In the evening, President Anastasiades and the members
of the Cyprus delegation will attend a dinner hosted by the Community of Sant’
Egidio in honour of the President of the Republic.
The President of the Republic and his entourage will
return to Cyprus in the evening of 16 February.
