The
President of the Republic presided
over
a meeting
of the political party leaders
The
President of the Republic,
Mr Nicos Anastasiades, presided over a meeting of the leaders of the
political party that are represented in the House of Representatives,
today, at the Presidential Palace.
After
the meeting, the Government Spokesman,
Mr Nikos Christodoulides, told the Press that it was agreed that a
three-day meeting of the National Council will be held before the
President of the Republic departs for New York, to participate in the
UN General Assembly.
Mr
Christodoulides
added that at the meeting the President briefed parliamentary party
leaders on the recent developments regarding the Cyprus problem and
in particular on his most recent meeting with the leader of the
Turkish Cypriot community. He said that the President also briefed
them on the discussions held and decisions taken with the Greek
Government, during the President’s visit in Athens last week.
He added that
President Anastasiades will also brief the House of Representatives
on the developments on the Cyprus problem.
