The
President of the Republic, Mr Nicos Anastasiades, will depart on 5 May for
Germany where he will pay a four-day official visit, during which he will meet
with Chancellor Angela Merkel.
The
President of the Republic will be accompanied by the Minister of Finance, Mr
Harris Georgiades, the Minister of Communications and Works, Mr Marios
Demetriades, and the Government Spokesman, Mr Nicos Christodoulides.
On 6 May,
in Berlin, the President of the Republic will meet with Chancellor Merkel with
whom he will have a working lunch, and later on they will give a joint press
conference.
On 7 May,
the President of the Republic will meet with the President of the Bundestag
(the German Federal Parliament) Mr Norbert Lammert.
On the
same day, President Anastasiades will address an event organized by the
Think-tank Deutsche Gesellschaft für Auswärtige Politik e.V.
In the
evening of 7 May, the President will depart for Hamburg where the next morning
he will meet with the President of the Senate of Hamburg, Mayor Mr Olaf Scholz.
Later
that day, the President will address a working lunch hosted by the Shipping
Chambers of Hamburg and Cyprus.
During
his stay in Germany, the President of the Republic will give interviews to
local media.
On the
sidelines of the President’s visit, the Minister of Finance will meet on 6 May
with his German counterpart, Mr Wolfgang Schäuble. The Minister of
Communications and Works will be accompanying the President during his meetings
in Hamburg.
The
President of the Republic and the Cypriot delegation will depart for Cyprus in
the evening of 8 May.
