for the World Autism Awareness Day


The Department of Antiquities, Ministry of Communications and Works, announces that it will take part again this year in the activities for the World Autism Awareness Day celebrated every year on the 2nd of April. Along with the blue lit of Pyramids in Egypt, the South Pole, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Eiffel Tour, the Christ the Redeemer Statue in Brazil, the History Museum at Missouri and many other monuments and historic buildings all over the World, the Department of Antiquities will light up blue the Cyprus Museum in Nicosia and the following monuments: the Castle of Limassol, the Castle of Larnaca, the Castle of Pafos, the Archaeological Site of Choirokoitia and the Archaeological Site at Palaipafos (Kouklia).

This effort is within the framework of the Department of Antiquities’ wider contribution to society and provides and promotes the building of awareness and understanding for persons with disabilities, including persons with autism, as well as of support for their loved ones.
