Consumer Price Index for the month of September 2015

The Consumer Price Index for September 2015 decreased by 0.57 units or 0.5% to 114.52 units compared to 113.95 in August 2015. This is mainly due to increases in the prices of certain clothing and footwear items, certain fresh fruits and vegetables and electricity. Decreases have been recorded in the prices of petroleum products and airfares.

The rate of inflation for September 2015 decreased by -2.5% compared to -2.7% in August 2015 and -0.9% in September 2014.

For the period January-September 2015, the CPI recorded a decrease of -2.1% compared to the corresponding period of 2014.
