for the month of August, 2014


The Consumer Price Index for August 2014 decreased by 0,28 units or 0,24% to 117,07 units compared to 117,35 in July 2014. This is mainly due to decreases in the prices of air fares, petroleum products and certain fresh fruit and vegetables. An increase has been recorded in the price of electricity.

The rate of inflation for August 2014 decreased by -0,7% compared to -0,6% in July 2014 and -0,9% in August 2013.

For the period January-August 2014, the CPI recorded a decrease of -1,7% compared to the corresponding period of 2013.
