Κοινή Δήλωση των δύο ηγετών
Κατά τη χθεσινή
τακτικήενημέρωση των δημοσιογράφων των Ηνωμένων Εθνών, ο Αναπληρωτής Εκπρόσωπος
του Γενικού Γραμματέα κ. Farhan
Haq ανέφερε ότι οι ηγέτες
των δύο κοινοτήτων στην Κύπρο εξέδωσαν Κοινή Δήλωση σχετικά με την πρώτη επέτειο
των μεταξύ τους συνομιλιών, η οποία δόθηκε στη δημοσιότητα από την Αποστολή των
Ηνωμένων Εθνών στην Κύπρο.
Οι δύο
ηγέτες, είπε, τόνισαντην δέσμευσή τους για την επίτευξη μιας συνολικής
διευθέτησης στο κυπριακό πρόβλημα, ενώ σημείωσαν ότι, παρόλο που υπάρχουν ακόμη
δυσκολίες και διαφορές, είναι αποφασισμένοι να επιδείξουν την απαιτούμενη θέληση
και θάρρος για να ξεπεράσουν τα εναπομείναντα εκκρεμή θέματα.

The Deputy Spokesperson for the UNSecretary General
referred to the Joint Statement of thetwo leaders
TheDeputy Spokesperson for the UN Secretary General, Mr
Farhan Haq, during yesterday’s Press briefing, referred to the Joint Statement
issued by the two leaders on Sunday on the first anniversary of the talks
between them.
Specifically,
he said: “TheGreek and the Turkish Cypriot leaders issued a Joint Statement on
the first anniversary of the talks between them, which was put out by the UN
Mission there. The Greek Cypriot leader, Mr Nikos Anastasiades, and Turkish
Cypriot leader, Mr Mustafa Akıncı, stressed their commitment to reach a
comprehensive settlement of the Cyprus question.
They noted
that, although therewere still difficulties and differences, they were
determined to show the necessary will and courage to overcome the remaining
outstanding issues.
