The President of the Republic will
participate
at the World Economic Forum in Davos,
Switzerland
The President of the Republic, Mr Nicos
Anastasiades, will depart tomorrow for Davos, Switzerland, where he will
participate in the proceedings of the World Economic Forum.
On the sidelines of the proceedings of
the Forum, the President of the Republic will have a meeting with the UN
Secretary-General, Mr Ban Ki-moon, and the leader of the Turkish Cypriot
community, Mr Mustafa Akinci.
During his stay in Davos, the President
will also have meetings with heads of state and government and other officials,
as well as with executives of international giant business enterprises.
Specifically, tomorrow evening (7pm
local time), President Anastasiades will meet with the Chief Executive Officer
of ENI (a multinational energy company), Mr Claudio Descalzi, and then he will
attend a dinner hosted by the founder of the Forum, Mr Klaus Schwab.
On 21 January, at 11am (local time),
the President of the Republic will address the proceedings of a round table
discussion on the issue of “Reuniting Cyprus”, at which also attending and
speaking will be the Special Advisor to the Secretary General of the United
Nations on the Cyprus problem Mr Espen Barth Eide, Mr Akinci and the founder of
the World Economic Forum.
At 11.45am (local time) the President
of the Republic will meet with the Vice President of the United States of
America, Mr Joe Biden, and at 12.30pm (local time), he will have a joint meeting
with the UN Secretary-General and Mr Akinci.
In the evening of 21 January, the
President of the Republic will meet with the President of the European Bank of
Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Mr Suma Chakrabarti.
On 22 January, the President of the
Republic will meet with the Prime Minister of Greece, Mr Alexis Tsipras.
On the same day, at 11am (local time), the President of the Republic
will meet with the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of TOTAL (a global oil
and gas company) Mr Patrick Pouyanné.
During the Forum, the President of the
Republic will have the opportunity for additional meetings, about which relevant
information will be provided.
The President of the Republic, who will
be accompanied by the Government Spokesman, Mr Nikos Christodoulides, will
return to Cyprus on 23 January.
