statement by the Government Spokesman Mr Nikos Christodoulides
on
the condition of the health of the President of the Republic
Following a prolonged nosebleed, the
President of the Republic Mr Nicos Anastasiades was admitted early this morning
to a hospital in Brussels where it was ascertained that the incident is due to
high blood pressure.
He was administered the appropriate
medical treatment, and because of the nose-bleeding incident and the necessity
to prevent its recurrence, the President was advised to remain in bed for the
next 48 hours. The President was released from the hospital and is at a
Brussels hotel.
The President of the Republic will be
closely monitored by an attending doctor in Brussels.
