Leaders visit the CMP Lab and record a joint appeal
Today, 20 December 2015, the leader of the Greek Cypriot
community, Mr Nicos Anastasiades, and the leader of the Turkish Cypriot
community, Mr Mustafa Akıncı, visited the Committee on Missing Persons (CMP)
laboratory and met with the three CMP Members and many of the Committee’s Greek
and Turkish Cypriot scientists.
They were briefed on the progress made, and the
challenges faced, by the Committee.
During their visit, the leaders recorded an appeal
calling on all Cypriots to provide information to the CMP on possible burial
sites. This appeal will be shown island-wide as a TV-spot.
The Members of the CMP would like to express their
gratitude to the two leaders for their continuous support of the Committee’s
bicommunal humanitarian work.
