During a positive and productive meeting, yesterday, in the Hague,
the Minister of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism, Mr Yiorgos Lakkotrypis
and the Minister of Economic Affairs of the Netherlands, Mr Henk Kamp, discussed
a broad range of topics covering, inter alia, the natural gas discoveries in Cyprus’ Exclusive Economic Zone, issues relating to the EU gas
market, bilateral cooperation as well as other topics of mutual interest.
The meeting between the Ministers was followed by a series of further
meetings and presentations at the Ministry of Economic Affairs during which the
vast knowledge and expertise of the Dutch authorities in the Oil and Gas industry was discussed.
Minister Lakkotrypis will continue his two-day visit to the
Netherlands with his participation, today, as the key-note speaker, at the
“ Big Improvement Day ” (BID), an annual high level event, held in Amsterdam, promoting
entrepreneurship, leadership and innovation, which aims to facilitate the
formation of partnerships in these areas. The Minister will address
participants, mainly high level entrepreneurs from various sectors and public
officials. He will also have the opportunity to meet entrepreneurs interested in
business opportunities in Cyprus.
The Minister will be returning to Cyprus this
evening.
