The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus meets the Minister of External Affairs of India in New Delhi





In the context of his participation in the Asia - Europe Meeting (ASEM) which takes place in New Delhi between 11 - 12 November, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr Ioannis Kasoulides, held yesterday a bilateral meeting with the Minister of External Affairs of India, Mr Salman Khurshid.



The meeting was held in a very positive atmosphere, where the two Ministers reaffirmed the close and historic ties of friendship between Cyprus and India.

Ministers Kasoulides and Khurshid discussed, inter alia, issues of bilateral relations and matters of economic cooperation, including the completion of new agreements, as well as possible ways to further promote investments between the two countries. At the same time, the two sides agreed to remain committed in working together to resolve issues that arose regarding the Agreement on Avoidance of Double Taxation.

Furthermore, Minister Kasoulides informed his counterpart on the latest developments concerning the Cyprus problem. Mr Khrurshid reiterated his country's support for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Cyprus, expressing hope for the success of the efforts to solve the Cyprus problem.
