The Spokesperson for the UNSG referred to the Cyprus problem and the
agreement between the EU and Turkey
The Spokesperson for the UN Secretary General, Mr Stéphane Dujarric,
during the regular press briefing yesterday, 18 March 2016, replied to a
question regarding the Cyprus problem and the agreement reached between the EU
and Turkey on the migration issue.
Invited to say if there is a possibility that the agreement between
Turkey and the EU will be reflected positively on the peace process in Cyprus,
Mr Dujarric said: “Obviously we have to take a look at what the agreement says.
The peace process, the negotiating process in Cyprus is continuing well.
Obviously, this addressing a whole series of issues and those discussions are
ongoing”.
