Trilateral
meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus,
Malta
and Montenegro
A
trilateral meeting between the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus, Mr
Ioannis Kasoulides, Malta, Dr. George W. Vella, and Montenegro, Mr Igor Lukšić,
will be held tomorrow, 19 March, in Nicosia.
The
main purpose of the meeting is to review Montenegro’s accession process to the
EU and identify areas where Cyprus and Malta could assist by providing their
expertise, know-how and implementation of best practices. During the meeting the
three Ministers will also discuss regional issues of common interest.
A
Press Conference will follow the conclusion of the meeting and, later, Minister
Kasoulides will host a dinner in honour of his counterparts from Malta and
Montenegro.
The
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus will have separate bilateral meetings with
his counterparts, while on Friday, 20 March, Ministers Kasoulides and Lukšić,
will sign a bilateral agreement between Cyprus and Montenegro for cooperation in
fighting terrorism, organized crime, illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs,
illegal migration and other criminal offences.
The
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro will also have meetings on 20 March
with the Minister of Finance, Mr Harris Georgiades, and the Minister of Energy,
Commerce, Industry and Tourism, Mr Yiorgos Lakkotrypis.
