The President of the
Republic, Mr Nicos Anastasiades, departs today in the afternoon for Cairo,
Egypt where he will pay a two-day official visit.
The President will be
accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Ioannis Kasoulides, the
Minister of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism, Mr George Lakkotrypis, and
Government officials.
Tomorrow the President
will have a private meeting with the President of Egypt, Mr Adly Mansour, and
later on they will hold expanded talks between the delegations of the two
countries.
President Anastasiades
will also meet with the Prime Minister of Egypt, Mr Hazem El-Bablawi.
Afterwards, bilateral
agreements will be signed in the presence of President Anastasiades and the
Egyptian Prime Minister.
Among the agreements to
be signed are a Framework Agreement Between Cyprus and Egypt concerning the
Development of Cross-Median Line Hydrocarbon Resources, Air Services
Agreements, and a Memorandum of Understanding between the Cyprus Institute of
Neurology and Genetics and the Children’s Cancer Hospital of Egypt, on Cooperation
in the provision of Services, and on Research and Education in the field of
Medical and Biomedical Sciences.
The President of the
Republic will return to Cyprus tomorrow, 12 December.
