The President of the Republic received a message of
congratulations
from the President of
France
The President of the Republic, Mr Nicos Anastasiades,
received a message of congratulations from the President of France, Mr François
Hollande, on the occasion of the anniversary of the Independence of Cyprus.
In his message President Hollande stated the
following:
“On behalf of the Republic of France, the French people
and myself personally, I express our warmest congratulations and best wishes to
you personally and for the well-being of your country.
You are aware that I attribute great importance to the deepening of
the relations between our two countries and to our cooperation in all matters of
common interest.
Within the current European financial framework, I wish
to salute the courageous reforms which Cyprus has undertaken in order for growth
and prosperity to return, and which today are bearing fruit.
I take this opportunity to underline the firm support of
France to the efforts by the Republic of Cyprus to find a just, comprehensive
and viable solution to the Cyprus problem, according to the principles of the
United Nations and the values of the European Union. I am satisfied by the new
dynamic in the inter-Cypriot talks and I hope that there will be a positive
outcome as soon as possible.”
