MEDIA ADVISORY
CMP event “Searching for our Missing” on 12 April at the Goethe-Institut
(Nicosia, 11 April 2014) – The CMP, in close coordination with the family associations representing families of missing persons of both communities, will hold a major public event on 12 April from 10:00 to 16:00 in the garden of the Goethe-Institut, 21 Markos Dracos Avenue in the UN buffer zone in Nicosia.
This event aims at offering the public a chance to meet with the 60 young CMP scientists. Large photos installations will illustrate every stage of CMP’s work, from investigations, excavation of burial sites, exhumation and analysis of human remains, to the identification and return of missing persons to their families. In addition, CMP scientists will deliver presentations in Greek (12:00 – 13:00) and in Turkish (14:00 – 15:00) to explain each stage of the work in detail and answer questions from the audience. The CMP wishes to thank the European Union for its generous funding and the Goethe-Institut for graciously hosting this event.
