The Republic of Cyprus and the State of Qatar signed
today an Agreement and Memoranda of Understanding, in the framework of the
official visit of the President of the Republic, Mr Nicos Anastasiades, in
Doha.
During the President’s meeting with the Emir of the State
of Qatar, the Ministers accompanying the President of the Republic signed, on
behalf of the Republic of Cyprus, one Agreement and three Memoranda of
Understanding.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Ioannis Kasoulides,
signed on behalf of the Republic a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation
in the field of education and an Agreement on cooperation in the legal field.
The Minister of Energy, Mr Yiorgos Lakkotrypis, signed
a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between Cyprus and Qatar in the energy
sector.
The Minister of Agriculture, Mr Nicos Kouyialis,
signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of
desalination and waste water treatment and reuse.
